I love designing things for homes and places especially those that move or cause movement.

Here are some water works, sinks and vessels that grace the rituals of everyday life by bringing us in contact with the poetry of water.

Did you ever think of the bath room as the most sensual place in the home?

Design Things: Water
Design Things: Light
I especially love working with light, which is always in companionship with shadow.

Light and shadow, the ever shifting dance between movement and solid is the most powerful means to enliven space.

Design Things: Stairs
Stairs are the spinal
cords connecting sky and earth.

The funnest thing to design,
stairs literally get the body
moving

Their rise and run sets the
rhythm of our ascent
or descent

They connect levels
fluidly, conducting
body, mind and place.

Design Things: Details
Details are metanyms to the design of the whole.

Everywhere you look in nature, highly refined detail
prevail.

Details bring intimacy to scale and celebrate the rigors of skill, craft and
materiality.

Details are the design features that invite touch,
evoke memory and stimulate
the mind.
I am constantly making art, I prefer using found objects, junk and refuse.

Sometimes these things end up in one of my projects, or I make things especially suited to particular spaces.

My philosophy is simple:
taking notice of the ordinary, revealing it in a new light, this to me is the practice of art.
